This department has records of marriage certificates from all around the state, so if there is no record in the county office, there might be a record here. The procedure starts with the searcher first downloading the relevant form from the website of the department. Note that the forms are different for a request for certified copy and a request for informational copy. Nevertheless, a form for a certified copy would still require that the same be notarized and sworn to. Once the form had been accomplished, the searcher should next attach a money order to the same to correspond to the required fifteen dollar fee. This done, the final step would be to send the application form and all requirements to the department for processing.
It is also possible to search for marriage records online through the use of online databases. Faster and more efficient, these online databases are rather easy to locate and even easier to use as it would only require the user minimum knowledge of how to use search engines. Most of these databases do not even charge anything for the use of their services, despite the fact that most of them are privately owned. They do provide the same information as the government despite the fact that they are mostly privately owned.

The procedure given below must be followed when requesting for marriage records at the office of the recorder
- From the website of the office of the recorder, download the relevant form
- Accomplish the form. Note that requests for certified copies would require you to have this form notarized and you must include your relationship to the parties to the marriage.
- Make a money order to correspond to the required fee.
- Attach the money order to the application form.
- Send the application form and all other requirements to the office of the recorder for processing.
- Wait for two to ten days for the office to send you the record that you had requested for.
