Idaho Marriage Records
The Vital Statistics Unit within the Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics of Idaho at Boise is the government agency responsible for Idaho Marriage Records. Apart from marriage documents, it is also the official agency that handles other state vital public records: divorces, deaths, births and other related information such as adoptions, stillbirths and abortions. Members of the public may request Idaho Marriage Records and Marriage Certificates by contacting this office either in person or by mail. Other alternatives include calling them via phone or ordering online.
Death, stillbirth, marriage and divorce certificates are legally confidential in Idaho for 50 years. Only directly concerned parties and immediate family members are permitted to access the information. Marriage Records databases at the bureau contain files on nuptials dated since May 1947 onwards. Pre-1947 documents are obtainable from the County Recorder in the county where the marriage license was granted. Each computer generated or photo static copy costs $13.00 and $18.00 respectively. Payments made in the form of cashier’s or personal check and money order are accepted. An additional handling fee of $10.50 is applied for applications made via fax. The standard processing time is 5 to 7 working days. Rush applications are available for an additional $5.00 but they would still require a few working days. Online orders are processed through an independent company which accepts only credit card payment.

Idaho Marriage License Public Records
In the State of Idaho, a court order has to be presented in order to access the Idaho Marriage Records or Certificate of someone other than your own. A much easier way to acquire a third-party’s marriage information is to turn to commercial service providers on the Internet. They are 24/7 online and results are typically ready in a matter of minutes rather than business days. Furthermore, their scope is nationwide as opposed to being referred by the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records & Health Statistics to the National Center for Health Statistics for information regarding obtaining records for events occurring in other states.
