The Vital Statistics Services Division at the State Department of Health is the official source for certified copies of vital records in Wyoming. Through the Vital Records Services Office there, it serves as the official custodian of all state vital records including Wyoming Marriage Records. The other Vital Records are Birth, Death, Stillbirth, Marriage, Divorce records, and their related data. These events are registered with the registrar of the county in which they happened, and then are filed with the state repository at the Vital Records Services Office. Wyoming Marriage Records since May 1941 are on file. Those before that period can be obtained through the Wyoming State Archives or the County Clerk Office where the license was granted.
In Wyoming, Marriage Records that are less than 50 years from the date of the event can only be issued to the individuals whose names are on the records or their legal representatives. After 50 years, anyone providing enough information to locate the record in question is eligible to obtain them as long as procedures are followed. The fee for obtaining Wyoming Marriage Records from the Vital Records Services Office is $13, paid in check or money order. This fee will be retained as a searching fee if a record is not located.
